The owner of this vehicle had a shock when he returned to his submerged car in the sea on Brean beach on Wednesday afternoon (July 3rd).

The VW Golf is the latest vehicle to become a victim of fast-incoming tides along the Somerset coastline.

The beach warden said: “The driver, who was from Bristol, claimed he hadn’t seen the warning signs as he drove onto the beach. And both he and the passenger said they hadn’t read the safety leaflet that they were given.”

While the occupants escaped unharmed, the vehicle was left for a commercial recovery service to safely retrieve after the high tide.
