Essential improvement works to the pathways at Brent Road Cemetery in Burnham-On-Sea will begin on Monday 27th April, the Town Council has announced.
Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Town Council says the project is part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, accessible and respectful environment for all who visit the cemetery.
The work is expected to take a minimum of four weeks, although this may extend depending on weather conditions or any unforeseen issues.
During the resurfacing period, some areas of the cemetery will have restricted access, and certain sections may be temporarily closed. Alternative routes will be clearly signposted.
A spokesperson for the Town Council said visitors are being asked to follow on‑site signage and any guidance provided by staff or contractors to ensure safety while the improvements are carried out.
The council adds “we appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as the upgrades take place, the work will help preserve the dignity and accessibility of the cemetery for years to come.”
