Ten local good causes have received financial boosts from Burnham-On-Sea Lions Club this week.

Representatives from each of the groups attended a special presentation evening at Brent Knoll’s Fox and Goose inn on Wednesday night (March 6th).

Burnham Lions President Doug Plume handed over £250 cheques to each of the groups – Gateway Club, NHS First Responders, Freewheelers, Berrow Day Care Centre, Music For the Memory, Children’s Hospice South West, In Charley’s Memory, Bristol Children’s Hospital and Young Carers.

The owners of Burnham’s Ritz Cinema, Pat and Beryl Scott, were also invited to select a charity to benefit and they picked Clic Sargent, who representative was also in attendance.

Doug told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The money was raised during our Christmas collections at supermarkets in Burnham and Highbridge and during our collection at last November’s Burnham-On-Sea Carnival. We’re really pleased to be supporting these great local groups.”
