Burnham-On-Sea’s Royal British Legion welcomed the town’s Mayor during a summer event at its town centre premises on Friday (August 14th).
Dozens of people supported the fundraising event at the branch, based in Victoria Street, Burnham-On-Sea, as it held its gathering alongside its usual Coffee Morning.
Chairman Simon Orchard, said the event forms part of the branch’s ongoing work to ensure it remains a welcoming place for long‑standing members and newcomers alike.
”It was the first time we’ve held an event like this and it was a great success. Spirits were high and everyone had a fantastic afternoon. It was also lovely that the Mayor and the County Vice Chair of the RBL took time out of their schedules to support us too.”
He added that the Burnham-On-Sea branch is currently enjoying one of its most positive periods in years, with new members joining and its weekly Coffee Mornings seeing strong support.
