A steady flow of visitors made their way through Burnham & District Horticultural Society’s 60th Anniversary Annual Flower Show on Saturday (August 8th), where more than 250 entries from 53 exhibitors were displayed.
The show, held at Burnham Community Centre, featured 16 junior exhibitors, marking one of the strongest turnouts of young participants in recent years.

Despite what organisers described as an “extremely challenging year weatherwise”, judges said they were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fruit, flowers and vegetables on display.
Jane Osborne from the society said handicraft and domestic class entries were up this year, with excellent standards across the board.

She added that junior entries were particularly strong, offering special thanks to Berrow School for its enthusiasm and support.
Organisers say they are grateful to everyone who entered, helped and visited during the day, helping to make the 60th anniversary show a memorable occasion for the society and the wider community.

Next year’s show schedules will be available in the autumn, and those wishing to reserve a copy can contact Jane on 07732 111850 or Cecilia on 01278 789973.
