Burnham-On-Sea’s community café The Waffle Hub has celebrated its fourth birthday this week, marking another successful year of serving local people and supporting organisations across the town.
The non‑profit café, based at Burnham Methodist Church in College Street, held a celebration on Tuesday (September 1st) where volunteers, supporters and customers gathered to mark the milestone.
Around 40 people attended, including Giles Clark, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Somerset, and Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Mayor Cllr Mike Facey.
After a warm welcome, the crowd joined in a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ before a large cake was cut and shared among those attending.
Caroline King from the hub said the past year has been strengthened by the support of volunteers and grant funding from several sources. She added that the café continues to cater for a wide range of people and regularly hosts organisations offering advice and guidance for residents in Burnham.
