Dozens of people clambered up the steps of St Andrew’s Church Tower in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday (May 25th) during a bellringing open day.

Scheduled to coincide with Burnham’s food festival, the event encouraged visitors to explore the historic seafront church and its bells.

“Visitors were rewarded with lovely views across the town and along the coast on a perfect day,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“There was a steady stream of visitors through the day – and we also saw many residents who had lived here for many years and never been up to the top of the bell tower. The tower is scheduled to be open again during the next food festival in October.”
