Hundreds of people headed to the 169th East Brent Harvest Home on Saturday (8th August) for a day of tradition.
The East Brent Harvest Home is the oldest and longest-running surviving communal harvest festival in the UK, held annually since 1857. It features a colorful village parade, a traditional harvest luncheon, and live music.
Music from The Beach’d Buoys and Snappa kept the crowds in good spirits, while children were treated to fun from Krazy Kev and The Hula Hoop Lady, followed by the ever‑popular youngsters’ races.
One of the highlights of the day was the traditional pudding procession, which wound its way through the village carrying a harvest loaf and an extra‑large cheese — a spectacle that has become a defining feature of East Brent’s historic event.
An auction rounded off the festivities as the community came together once again to mark the end of the farming season in true Harvest Home style.
Organisers have confirmed that next year’s event — the landmark 170th Harvest Home — will take place on Saturday 14th August 2027.
