Burnham-On-Sea’s 71st Sailing Regatta got underway weekend over the weekend with races around Bridgwater Bay.

The event is being held over two weekends, with racing taking place in the estuary that should be visible to seafront walkers, weather permitting.

The first day of regatta sailing racing was held on Saturday (July 6th) with a second sailing race on Sunday (July 7th) when gig racing also took place, as pictured here, with five teams taking part.

A third race will be held on Saturday July 13th at 4.15pm and then the final race will be held on Sunday July 14th at 5pm to determine this year’s overall regatta winner, followed by the prizegiving.
