Burnham-On-Sea police have this week arrested a Bristol man who was wanted in connection with an incident in Pier Street, pictured, where a motorist fled from officers after being pulled over for questioning.

Burnham-On-Sea.com learns the 19-year-old was caught in the town’s Somerfield car park on Tuesday following a struggle with six officers.

He has been charged with TWELVE offences relating to a number of incidents across the region. There had also been two arrest warrants placed on him by Bristol police.

“We did have quite a struggle and CS spray was used to restrain him,” said PS Julian Brandon of Burnham Police. “It’s a very successful conclusion.”

We reported how a search had been launched for the man last month after he fled from officers near The Reed’s Arms.
