A patriotic evening of music and fun has raised hundreds of pounds for a Burnham-On-Sea charity.

Burnham Rotary Club organised a Last Night Of The Proms fundraiser earlier this month in the town in aid of BARB Search & Rescue.

Dozens of people attended the popular event, wearing patriotic clothing and waving Union Jacks, as pictured here.

“A great evening was had by all and we are delighted to have raised a total of £931.89 for BARB towards its life-saving work along our coastline,” Burnham Rotary Club President David Underwood.

A BARB spokesman thanked the group for all their support. “We are a small, independent charity that wholly depends on local donations to keep our hovercrafts and inshore rescue boats in operation, so events like this are greatly appreciated. We thank the Rotary Club for their support of BARB.
