Local residents are being encouraged to roll up their sleeves and help clear litter from Burnham-On-Sea beach and the Brue river estuary this Saturday, July 26th.
The latest beach clean, organised by the Friends of Burnham Beach, will start at 10am, with volunteers meeting outside the Burnham-On-Sea Sailing Club.
Organisers say the clean-up is a great opportunity for people of all ages to make a difference to the local environment.
Children must be aged five or older and accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Picking equipment will be provided, but participants are asked to wear sturdy footwear suitable for muddy and uneven terrain, and to bring their own gloves. Light refreshments will be available after the event.
Anyone wishing to take part must email mark.hollidge@hotmail.co.uk in advance to confirm attendance.
Mark Hollidge from Friends of Burnham Beach says: “It’s always brilliant to see the community come together to look after our special stretch of coastline — every bit of help makes a big impact.”
