Highbridge resident joins veterans at Cenotaph on Remembrance Day

-

A Highbridge resident will be marching with veterans on Remembrance Sunday as they salute at the Cenotaph in London.

District councillor Roger Keen says he has been given the “huge privilege” of marching with the veterans of his Regiment, the 17th/21st Lancers (the Death or Glory boys), on Remembrance Sunday as they march past and salute the Cenotaph in London.

The co-ordinator, Major Ron Cross (Retired) who now lives at Portishead, was allocated 35 places in the parade which he said could have been filled many times over, such is the strength of loyalty and commitment to past friends and comrades by all who have served.

Remembrance Sunday will be marked this weekend with services and parades across the country.
