Sedgemoor District Council has announced that it is to hold several drop-in events in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge as part of its consultation on the new Local Plan.

Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported here last year that thousands of new homes have been proposed for sites in Burnham and Highbridge in the council’s Local Plan.

The council says that its additional consultation period will be “focused on refined housing options” for the settlements suggested as tier 1 in the previous consultation document, which was first released in October 2015.

“The additional consultation does not replace or cover all the issues discussed during the original stage-1 consultation that ran from October 2015 to January 2016,” explained spokeswoman Sam Taylor.

“Where residents have previously responded to the stage 1 consultation these comments still stand and will be taken into account.”

The extra public drop-in events will be held locally on 27th June from 2-7pm in the Princess Theatre, Burnham-On-Sea and on 6th July from 2-7pm at the Community Hall, Highbridge.

The council says that its additional consultation documents and information on how to respond will be available from 27th June here.
