Firefighters carried out one of their more unusual rescues in Burnham-On-Sea town centre on Thursday afternoon (December 17th) when a seagull became stranded on a rooftop.

The crew was called to Burnham’s High Street at 12.30pm where the gull had become stuck above Calm Gourmet Coffee Bar.

Fire spokesman Paul Slavin told “The seagull had got stuck in netting. Crews used a triple extension ladder to reach the bird, which was then taken away by the RSPCA.”
