The annual search to find the new Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea Carnival Royalty for 2026 is now underway.
Entries are being invited for the popular roles, with the deadline set for 6pm on Wednesday 29th April. The successful candidates will lead this year’s Carnival Procession when it takes place on Monday 9th November 2026.
A Carnival Royalty Evening will be held on Friday 1st May at The Ritz Social Club in Victoria Street, Burnham-On-Sea, starting at 7pm. A panel of judges will select the winners on the night, followed by a Coronation Disco provided by Nick’s Entertainment.

Organisers say entries are welcome from anyone aged five and above who lives within a five‑mile radius of Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea. Participants must also be available to take part in the Carnival procession in November.
There will be two age categories: 5–13 and 14+, with all entrants under 18 required to be accompanied by an adult. For more information or to request an entry form, contact Gill on 07873 202717 or email carnivalroyalty.hbos@gmail.com.
The selection of the new queen is the first event in the run-up to the 2026 Burnham-On-Sea Carnival on Monday, November 9th.
