Celebrity support for Secret World’s annual auction and ball

BBC1 Countryfile presenter Tom Heap was among 200 people who attended Secret World Wildlife Rescue’s annual Auction and Ball near Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday night (October 1st).

Tom was the compere for the event, which was held at the Webbington Hotel and this year had an Oriental theme.

Supporters of the charity enjoyed a three-course meal and then took part in an auction and silent auction, cabaret, casino and dancing.

Secret World’s silent auction included signed memorabilia from David Attenborough, Brian May, Chris Packham, Martin Hugh Games, Paul Martin, Marcus Trescothic, Jilly Cooper, Mike Dilger and Alan Titchmarsh.

Founder Pauline Kidner said: “We had a great turnout of around 200 people from across the UK for this event, which is an important one for Secret World as it raises vital funds.”

David Foulds, CEO for the charity, said: “This event gives people a chance to have fun whilst also raising funds for our charity’s work. It is wonderful that so many well-known personalities supporting us.”
