Sedgemoor District Council retains its Gold ‘Investors in People’ status

-

Sedgemoor District Council has retained its Gold ‘Investors in People’ status.

Investors in People is a recognition that an organisation looks to improve performance and realise objectives through the management and development of people.

The council is among only 16% of accredited organisations to achieve Gold and it has held IIP accreditation since 2003.

Despite the qualifying criteria being raised by the IIP organisation, Sedgemoor was awarded a very strong Gold status which shows they understand that it’s people that make work better. The accreditation process involved an all-staff survey, plus randomly chosen face-to-face interviews.

Commenting on the award, Allison Griffin, Chief Executive said: “I am over the moon at the result. This award is a real testament to our staff and managers and a true reflection of their commitment to provide excellent services to our communities.”

Paul Devoy of Investors in People added: “We’d like to congratulate Sedgemoor District Council on their Gold accreditation. We invest in people is a fantastic effort for any organisation, and places Sedgemoor in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of their staff. We believe that the success of organisations begins and ends with staff. If we make work better for everyone, we make society stronger, healthier and happier.”
