A man has been arrested in Burnham-On-Sea as Police investigate an alleged serious sexual assault in the town over the weekend.
The arrest comes after Police were called to Abingdon Street in the early hours of last Sunday morning.
Avon and Somerset Police spokesman Craig Evry told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’re investigating a serious sexual assault on a woman in her thirties which happened in a property in Abingdon Street, Burnham-On-Sea, in the early hours of Sunday April 9th.”
“A 48-year-old man was arrested in connection with this incident and he’s been released under investigation.”
“The victim is being given access to any help and support she needs and our enquiries are continuing.”
