Burnham-On-Sea skating rink closes for a day during high winds

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s skating rink will be closed on Wednesday (January 3rd) due to the Met Office’s warning of severe weather – and will re-open on Thursday for its final two days of the Christmas season.

Organisers from community group Burnham Events Social Team (BEST) said they are not taking any risks during the forecast 70mph high winds and have decided to close for the day.

The synthetic plastic skating rink is located on Burnham-On-Sea’s Lynton Road Car Park and has been well supported by locals since it opened before Christmas.

Entry onto the skating rink costs £4.00 per person per hour, and the rink is open daily from 11am with the last skate at 4pm, closing at 5pm. Its final day of opening will be Saturday, January 6th.

A BEST spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s great to have been open again for the Christmas holidays – we have seen many visitors each day and thank local people for their support.”
