Avon and Somerset’s Roads Policing Unit has seized several high‑performance supercars after officers stopped a wedding convoy that was reportedly being driven dangerously along the M4 and M5.
The force says it received multiple calls from concerned motorists reporting a line of powerful sports cars travelling at speed and driving without due care.
Officers were quickly deployed and located the convoy, bringing it to a halt despite what they described as the “impressive performance” of the vehicles involved.
Police confirm several of the supercars were seized and the drivers reported for driving offences. Further enquiries are underway to identify additional vehicles linked to the incident.
Police add the group was headed to a friend’s wedding celebration, but stressed that the motorway is not the place for a rolling showcase of high‑powered cars. Officers added that the behaviour posed a clear risk to other road users.
A Police spokesperson adds the message was simple: “Enjoy the cars and enjoy the wedding, but don’t turn the journey into somebody else’s worst day.”
