Somerset Veterans Champion Cllr Henry Hobhouse was among those attending the latest gathering of the Burnham-On-Sea Veterans Breakfast Club this month.
Henry, who represents Castle Cary and previously served with the Grenadier Guards, received a warm welcome when he joined fellow veterans at The Reeds Arms on Burnham seafront on Saturday, May 9th.
Organiser Mike Smith said the event had been another well‑supported morning for the group: “The breakfast club was honoured to have the Somerset Veterans Champion, Councillor Henry Hobhouse, join us.”
“Henry outlined his role and responsibilities to the veteran community and answered questions from the assembled veterans. The Burnham-on-Sea Veterans Breakfast Club is very grateful to Henry for taking the time to visit us.”
The club meets monthly and continues to grow as more local veterans come together for support, conversation and camaraderie.
The next Breakfast Club meeting will be held on Saturday, June 13th at 9.45am, when the topic of conversation will be Operation Fortitude, a subject organisers say will be of particular interest to veterans.
