Several students excluded after CCTV catches them trespassing at King Alfred School

-

Several students have been excluded from Highbridge’s King Alfred School Academy after they were caught on CCTV cameras trespassing on the site.

Police were called to the school on Wednesday February 20th after a group of youths set off an alarm on the school’s security system, as we first reported here.

The school began an investigation after the footage showed the youths climbing on top of the school roofs and trespassing.

Principal Nathan Jenkins said this week that he has excluded several students for a fixed period of time in relation to the incident.

“We have excluded several students for a fixed period of time and police are also dealing with older youths. Whilst we are disappointed to have to do this it needs to be stressed that this behaviour on school roofs and at our site is dangerous and unhelpful and showed real disrespect to our community.”

“We are thankful for parental support in this matter. Please let us all respect our local community.”

He added: “The new roofs are on schedule and will be completed in the next month.”

Avon and Somerset Police said the incident is being treated as ‘anti-social behaviour.’
