High tides warning in Burnham-On-Sea, Brean and Berrow this week

-

Walkers and other beach users have been warned to be aware of exceptionally high tides in Burnham-On-Sea, Brean and Berrow over the coming days.

A series of high tides at around 12 metres are due, prompting Coastguards to warn beach walkers and motorists to take extra caution.

The high tide times in Burnham-On-Sea on Friday are 8.19am (11.96m) and 8.41pm (11.96m), then Saturday at 9.03am (12.04m) and 9.24pm (11.91m), Sunday at 9.46am (11.82m) and 10.05pm (11.57m).

Burnham-On-Sea Coastguard Officer Dave Welland said: “We do advise people to take extra care as there will be a greater risk of getting into difficulty during this week’s high tides. Check the tide times and stay away from areas where you might get cut-off or into danger.”

Beach wardens will be clearing beach parking areas in advance of the high tides to try and avoid any motorists getting into difficulty.

Crews at Burnham-On-Sea Coastguard, BARB Search & Rescue and Burnham RNLI will be on call through the weekend, as normal, to respond to any incidents.
