Almost 300 athletes of all ages took part in Burnham-On-Sea’s Spring Triathlon on Sunday (April 17th).

Organised by Burnham-On-Sea Swim and Sports Academy, the Super Sprint Triathlon and Junior Triathlon races were held on a perfect Spring’s morning.

The adult competitors completed a gruelling 250m swim, 10km bike ride and a 2.5km run while the youngsters completed a shorter course along the beach and seafront.

Thomas Kerfoot won the Super Sprint event in a time of 31:41. The winners of the TriStar events were M-TS1 – George Mahon, M-TS2 – Lawrence Martindale, M-TS3 winner – Harry O’Donoghue, TS1 – Macy Noad, F-TS2 – Alexandra Palotai-Avella, and F-TS3 – Daisy Davies.

Sara Cox Conklin from the Swim and Sports Academy told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had a really good turnout today and there was some really competitive action. Our thanks go to all the athletes, marshalls and local residents for their support. It was a great success.”
