Two local businesses, led by women, are celebrating after being shortlisted at the Somerset Business Awards.

The Design Hive, based on the Walrow Estate in Highbridge and eat:Festivals, based in Burnham-On-Sea, are both through to the next stage at their prestigious awards run by Somerset Chamber of Trade.

Mel said: “We entered in the category ‘Business of the Year 1-10 Employees’ and with 2.5 times more entries this year, we were delighted to be shortlisted. We are passionate about helping local businesses communicate visually and stand-out through our branding, graphic design and web design services.”

“We are keen supporters of eat:Festivals, so are proud to be shortlisted with them this year.”

eat:Burnham co-organiser Sarah Milner Simonds added: “We are over the moon to be shortlisted this year, after three years of entering. The Investing in Somerset category recognises the work we do across Somerset celebrating the great producer and also encouraging people to fit the region. We measure our impact and are proud of the place making we do for our host towns.”

“It is great to be shortlisted alongside Mel, the designer behind our fantastic branding.”

Both businesses find out if they are through to the next stage in the next couple of weeks and the winners will be announced on 19th October.
