Tsunami victims remembered by Burnham-On-Sea town councillors

BURNHAM-ON-SEA town councillors joined millions of other people across the UK in holding a three minute silence in memory of the victims who died in the Asian tsunami tragedy.

Mayor Louise Parkin gathered with councillors and residents besides the water feature in Pier Street, Burnham on Wednesday January 5th, 2005.

Our photo shows the town’s flag being lowered to half mast at just after 12 noon when the silent ceremony was held.

It followed the tragic deaths of more than 150,000 people across Asia.
