Police have appealed for witnesses as they investigate two assaults in Highbridge that left two people hurt on Friday evening (August 21st).
Officers from Burnham-On-Sea Police station were called mid-evening after reports of a disturbance near the Town Clock next to the roundabout at the junctions of Market Street and Huntspill Road.
A Police spokesman says: “Arrests have been made following two people being assaulted in Highbridge. Police were called to Huntspill Road at approximately 8.35pm.”
“Our enquiries are at an early stage, but a woman in her late-thirties was assaulted and taken to hospital with facial and head injuries. A 33-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody.”
“A second assault on a man in his late-fifties also occurred and he was also taken to hospital. A 35-year-old woman was arrested in connection with that incident.”
Police say their enquiries into the incidents are ongoing and added: “Witnesses, or anyone who was in the area who may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, is asked to contact us online or on 101 quoting reference number 5226236864.”
