Police name teenage motorcyclist killed in crash near Wedmore

-

Police have named the teenage victim of a fatal road crash near Wedmore on Monday night (April 29th).

Jake Douglas, 18, from the Cheddar area died following the three-vehicle collision at about 8.10pm on Cheddar Road in the village of Cocklake.

Jake’s family have released a statement following the tragedy: “Motorbikes were Jake’s passion and his life. He was a qualified motorcycle mechanic and was due to start at Swansea Metropolitan University in September to study for a degree in Motorcycle Engineering.”

“He could often be found in a garage or shed tinkering with his latest addition and drew great pleasure from this, almost as much as from riding it.”

“Jake will be remembered by his family, girlfriend and his many friends as a happy, loyal, fun-loving man with a full and exciting future ahead of him. He will be deeply missed.”

Officers from the force’s collision investigation unit are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward via the non-emergency telephone number 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
