West Huntspill Church refurbishment hit by firm in administration

-

A £60,000 project to refurbish part of West Huntspill Church has been hit by delays due to a building firm going into administration.

Last month, Burnham-On-Sea.com first revealed here that builder St Blaise had called in administrators, which caused delays to Burnham’s Marine Cove project.

The firm is also overseeing restoration work inside West Huntspill’s St Peter and All Hallows Church, which has also come to a halt.

Churchwarden Nigel Maddocks told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Unfortunately, there is still a lot of work outstanding due to St Blaise going into administration.”

“The work includes glassing the lady chapel and completing the refurbishment of the church’s north door.”

He added: “The PCC (Parochial Church Council) is waiting to see what develops. It’s a matter of organising the remaining work and getting it done.”
