New Wetherspoon Pub, The Reed’s Arms, Opens in Burnham

The former Queens Hotel in Burnham-on-Sea has reopened as a pub – following a £1.2 million development project.
Pub operator JD Wetherspoon spent six months converting the building in Pier Street. Many of the original features of the building, part of which is grade II listed, have been retained.
Thirty new full and part-time jobs have been created at the pub, The Reeds Arms, which is managed by Kelvin Wills.
The pub is named after the former hotel’s popular Reeds Bar, itself named after the Victorian-era pub which used to occupy the site.
The Reeds Arms is music-free and one-third of the customer area will be designated as non-smoking.
The pub is wheelchair accessible and have a specially adapted toilet for customers with disabilities.
It specialises in cask-conditioned beers, serving up to ten at all times, including a range from micro-brewers across the UK.
The Reeds Arms features a beer veranda, allowing customers to enjoy sea views.
The pub is open from 10am until 11pm (Monday to Saturday) and 10am until 10.30pm (Sunday). It serves alcohol from 10am (Monday to Saturday) and from 12 noon (Sunday).
Children are admitted to the pub from opening time until 6pm. As a condition of the licence, children must be accompanied by an adult and both the child and adult must order a meal. Last orders for children’s food are 5pm.
