Yarn bombers struck at this Burnham-On-Sea seafront on Saturday (September 20th) in memory of a teenager who recently died.

A shelter on The Esplanade has been decorated with dozens of brightly coloured knitted items, pictured here.

The display includes knitted seagulls, flags, fishing nets and even people sat on a bench – in memory of the late Charley Marks, who died earlier this month.

The display will be turned into a postcard and the proceeds of its sale used to start a charity in the youngster’s memory.

Yarn bombing was first seen in Burnham last year and most recently in August at Marine Cove. The unique craze is popular in other parts of the UK too where public places are adorned with the multi-coloured artwork to bring a smile to visitors’ faces.
