It’s Carnival Time! Enjoy the Fireworks and Fun…
Burnham’s 2003 Carnival celebrations began at 7pm on Sunday November 9th with a fantastic 25-minute firework display on the seafront. As the tide was high at the time, the fireworks were let off from a special platform built in the sea using some scaffolding on the jetty.
The colourful display was widely acknowledged as being one of the best Burnham had ever seen. Although the weather was poor with heavy rain, the spirits of the large crowd were clearly not dampened as lots of ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ were heard above the accompanying classical music! The display could be seen for miles around Bridgwater Bay.
