-

A young girl who was air-lifted to Bristol’s Frenchay Hospital following an accident at a Brean holiday park at the weekend is making a good recovery, it has been confirmed.

The Somerset and Dorset Air Ambulance was called to Unity Farm on Sunday (August 30th) after the youngster was struck by a passing vehicle.

Police spokesman Wayne Baker told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police were called to Brean at 10.50am on Sunday after a six year-old child riding a bike was involved in a collision with a car. She was air-lifted to Frenchay hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.”

A number of holidaymakers watched the helicopter land and take off next to Red Road at the rear of the holiday park, as pictured.

Clare Wall, a spokeswoman for the holiday park, told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Tuesday (September 1st) that the girl is making a good recovery.

She said: “An incident occurred whereby a child on a bicycle collided with a car on one of the touring and camping fields. The six year-old girl was treated on site and airlifted to Frenchay hospital where she was thankfully later discharged with no serious injuries.”
