Appeal after ‘mindless vandals’ steal Burnham-On-Sea shop’s sign

-

A Burnham businessman is counting the cost of crime after a sign was stolen from outside his shop on Friday night (August 1st).

The owner of the Styles ice cream store on The Esplanade says a £250 sign promoting his range of products was removed overnight into Saturday.

“It was a big sign and the thief would have had to remove 14 nuts and bolts to take it down which is a lot of effort. Quite why anyone would do that to remove a sign like this is beyond me,” owner Kevin Lynham told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The sign was promoting our wide range of ice cream flavours and it really is mindless to have stolen it.”

He says the theft took place between 9pm on Friday and 10am on Saturday morning.

“I am offering a cash reward for information that leads to the successful prosecution of the culprit. Anyone who saw people acting suspiciously should contact the police on 101 and pass on the details.”
