Long-serving Brean churchwarden retires after 29 years in the role

-

Parishioners in Brean have this week held a ceremony of appreciation to thank a long-serving churchwarden for his 29 years of work.

Cedric Lodge has been a churchwarden at St Bridget’s Church in the village since 1983 and is set to retire in the New Year.

He was presented with a picture of the church, plus a Waterford glass bowl to thank him for his 29 years of service.

Reverend Sally Lacey told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It is most unusual to find a churchwarden who has been in post this long. Cedric is a tremendous man who will be greatly missed by everyone at the church. He’s always such a positive person with a wonderful smile who is always happy to lend a hand.”
