Council’s anger over new sea wall graffiti in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Burnham-On-Sea Town Council has this week hit out at vandals who have spray-painted graffiti over part of the town’s sea wall.

Steam cleaning equipment will have to be used to remove the writing that has been daubed over the wall on the North Esplanade near Maddock’s Slade, pictured here.

Town Clerk Denise Emery told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It is frustrating that someone would do this when it looks so terrible for beach users.”

“Graffiti like this costs the council – and tax payers – money to have the paint removed, meaning that other services may not receive as much financial support.”

The Town Council is working with Sedgemoor District Council’s Clean Surroundings Team to get the graffiti removed over the next few days.
