Vandals leave trail of damage after attack on Burnham florist’s shop

-

A Burnham town centre business faces a repair bill for hundreds of pounds after vandals attacked a shopfront in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

Two of the large panes of glass at Salisbury Florists in the High Street were smashed, leaving the shop’s annoyed owners to start 2008 with a clean-up operation on Tuesday morning.

Salisbury Florists spokeswoman Rebecca Horton told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our two main windows at the front of the shop were smashed sometime between 4pm on New Year’s Eve and 10am on New Year’s morning.”

“It is very annoying – we’re now waiting for the final bill to see how much it will cost to get the damage repaired.”

She added: “Fortunately, no-one gained entry to the shop, so nothing was taken.”

Anyone with information about the incident should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
