Burnham-On-Sea police continue crackdown on illegal vehicles

-

Burnham-On-Sea police continued their crackdown on dangerous vehicles on Wednesday evening (April 4th) when they took a dangerous motorbike off the road after finding it had scores of defects.

Sgt Julian Brandon of Burnham Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The bike had no registration plates, no rear lights, no working front light, leaking brake oil and even a battery tied to the bike’s frame with string.”

“A vehicle like this clearly endangers the life of the motorcyclist and is a danger to other motorists. We had no hesitation in serving a prohibition order to take it off the road.”

The prohibition order was served after the vehicle was pulled over on the A38 near the town. The 19-year-old owner of the bike, who is from Burnham-On-Sea, has been reported for a number of motoring offences.
