Long service medal for Burnham-On-Sea Sergeant after 22 years

Sergeant Julie Tolley has been presented with a Police Long Service Medal by by Avon and Somerset Constabulary.

Sergeant Tolley joined the police force in October 1988 and has performed duty across the Somerset West District, joining the team at Burnham-On-Sea in May this year.

Sgt Tolley, who works as a response team Sergeant covering many duties in Sedgemoor, already holds the Queens Police Jubilee Award.

She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I have enjoyed the whole of my service to date and am fortunate enough to have worked and still work with a really good team of colleagues. I am still looking forward to the rest of my service and hope that I can continue to make a difference to the quality of life for all the public I serve.”

Inspector Roger Tolley, who is not a relation, added: “The recognition of Sergeant Tolley’s service is a prestigious event. She has always provided and continues to provide service of the highest quality. We are fortunate to have her on our team.”
