A body was found by police as they searched through the burnt-out remains of a bungalow on the outskirts of Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday afternoon (June 15th).
Brent Road was completely closed to traffic for much of the day – as pictured here – after the blaze broke out early on Thursday morning.
A police spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Thursday afternoon: “I can confirm that we have recovered one body from the premises and that a post mortem will be held tomorrow.”
She added: “We are keeping an open mind on the cause of the fire at this stage.”
