Burglars smashed their way into Burnham-On-Sea’s Boots chemist store on Saturday morning (May 27th) during the FOURTH raid in the recent weeks.

One of the glass doors at the entrance to the store was smashed in Burnham High Street, as pictured here.

It occurred during the early hours of Saturday morning, and a large quantity of stock is believed to have been taken.

The store was closed for the whole day on Saturday while police investigated the incident.

The Burnham-On-Sea store said on Saturday: “We are sorry, but due to circumstances beyond our control we are unable to open at present.”

“We are hoping to re-open once the clean-up operation has been completed and the Police forensics team have attended the scene. Once again, we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.”

Burglars gained access to the store in an identical way to three previous break-ins on Sunday April 16th, Thursday April 13th and Monday April 3rd – prompting some to question whether the firm should now be investing in metal security shutters.

Anyone with information about the break-ins that could help the Police investigation should call 101.
