Burnham-On-Sea Lions have given a funding boost to enable a care group to hold a Christmas party for elderly patients.

A cheque for £500 has been presented to Somerset Carers, who are planning the Christmas Party in Burnham’s Baptist Church on December 18th.

“The meal will be a very special one for some our elderly clients who would otherwise be unable to get out to celebrate Christmas,” said the group’s Sue Jefferies.

“It’s the first year we’ve hold the party, which will cater for local people aged between 65 and 102. We are very grateul to Burnham Lions for their generous support.”

Highbridge singer Gypsy Watkins will also perform at the party and she was present to support the group at this week’s cheque handover, pictured.
