Fabric fun day in Burnham-On-Sea raises over £1,300 for charity

-

Crowds of people attended a fundraising fabric fun day in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday (March 22nd) where visitors were able to learn how to knit, sew and embroider.

The successful event was held at the Catholic Church Hall in Highbridge Road and raised more than £1,300 for charity.

Organiser Ronnie Broadley told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a fabulous day for the whole community – there were a wide range of demonstrations and mini workshops on offer throughout the day.”

“The techniques included applique, braid making, felting, machine embroidery, image transfer, needle felting, bag making, printing and card making.”

“We raised a great sum of £1,319 which has been split between establishing the local support group and Parkinson’s UK research.”

The local Parkinson’s support group meets every second Monday of the month in the Catholic Church Hall and is open to all local sufferers and their families and supporters.
