High winds cause damage in Burnham and Highbridge

-

Gale force winds in the early hours of Tuesday (March 31st) brought down trees and caused damage in the Burnham-On-Sea area.

A large advertising hoarding next to Highbridge Social Club in Church Street was blown onto the side of the building, as pictured above, by the 60mph winds.

Police closed a footpath running between Burnham’s Chapel Street and The Esplanade due to several builders boards being blown down, as pictured above.

Several trees were blown down, including one in Burnham Road across the pavement, while a row of fences came down in Love Lane, pictured.
