Mayor welcomes Burnham’s Gateway members after Minehead break

-

Over 50 members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Gateway Club have just returned from a week’s holiday in Minehead.

The group of 53 adults, who all have learning disabilities, were waved off by Burnham’s Mayor, Michael Clarke, as they took a coach from the Burnham to Butlins.

Club leader Barbara Thorogood told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The group enjoyed a busy five day break, giving their carers a rest. Among the activities was a steam train trip and a visit to Exmoor Zoo. They loved it and all had a wonderful time.”

The club – which last year celebrated its 30th anniversary – provides social activities for local adults with learning disabilities.
