Theft of Poppy Appeal box: Woman arrested by Burnham-On-Sea Police

Burnham-On-Sea Police have arrested a woman after a Poppy Appeal collection box was stolen in Brean this week.

Police were called to Brean’s McColls store in South Road on Thursday (November 10th) when staff reported the charity box had been stolen.

Police spokeswoman Niamh Byrne told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to a shop in South Road, Brean, at around 4.20pm to reports of the theft of a charity tin.”

“A 37-year-old woman was later arrested and reported for summons for the offence.”

It’s understood that the woman was arrested at a holiday park in the village.
