Police working with Brent Knoll School pupils to boost road safety

-

Burnham-On-Sea Police have been working with staff, pupils and parents at Brent Knoll School this month to boost road safety.

The school organised an art competition for pupils aimed at increasing awareness of road safety and reducing parking along the ‘zig zag’ yellow lines outside.

Police have been monitoring parking outside the school this week – and they picked the winners of a competition to design a safety poster, with Scarlett Metcalfe named the overall winner.

“With the support of the local community police, the children have become very engaged in their own road safety,” Chris Burman, head teacher, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Road safety leaflets, created by the children, were handed out and we hope all our parents and carers remember that the warning signs and lines are for everyone’s safety.”
