‘Shocking’ condition of fingerpost signs in Burnham attacked at council meeting

-

The poor condition of fingerpost signs in Burnham-On-Sea has been attacked during a Town Council meeting this week.

Burnham resident Alex Turco told councillors during this week’s Annual Town Council Meeting: “Many finger posts in the town centre and along the seafront are in a shocking condition.”

“Every single fingerpost has paint peeling off and some are almost unreadable.”

“It’s unacceptable that nothing has been done about this since I previously raised the issue to the council twice last year.”

Burnham’s Mayor, Cllr Andy Brewer, said: “I noticed the poor condition of the fingerposts during a walk along the seafront at the weekend and am keen to get this resolved.”

“I am pleased that the condition is due to be discussed further at the next Town Improvements Committee meeting.”

Work to get the signposts repaired will be discussed by councillors during the June meeting of the Town Improvements Committee.
