Burnham fundraiser’s head shave at Asda Highbridge raises £150 for cancer charity

-

A head shave at Highbridge’s Asda supermarket has raised funds for a breast cancer support charity.

Mary Williams, a Burnham-On-Sea resident who works at the Asda store, is fundraising for Breast Cancer Now as part of the store’s Tickled Pink campaign run by Asda.

Mary told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I know people who have had cancer and I have sadly lost family members to it.”

“The charity is very close to my heart and I wanted to do something to raise awareness for them as well as funds. We have raised over £150 so far.”

“My hair will grow back, and sadly not everyone has that opportunity.”

She thanked Burnham-On-Sea barber Mike Lowe, who runs Lowe’s barber shop in Burnham High Street, who did the honours. Mike said he was happy to help such a good cause.
